THRIVE GOLD's revolutionary ingredients combine to turn back the clock with respect several key pathways of physiological aging; activating anti-aging genes, improving mitochondrial health and function, and reducing oxidative damage and inflammation.

Boost NAD+

THRIVE GOLD significantly boosts levels of NAD+, activating a class of master regulatory genes called Sirtuins. Sirtuins turn off expression of certain genes that promote aging, including genes involved in the regulation of inflammation, fat synthesis and storage and insulin-level management.

Super Antioxidants

THRIVE GOLD contains 4 of the most powerful antioxidants, each in a specialized form that is both highly bioavailable and highly effective in reducing oxidative stress and inflammation throughout the body.

THRIVE GOLD provides the key nutrients needed for optimal mitochondrial health and function. Mitochondria generate the energy your body needs to function and supporting healthy mitochondrial function is key to maintaining vitality as you age.

  • Nicotinamide Mononucleotide (NMN)

    125 mg

NMN is the immediate precursor to NAD+, a coenzyme found in all living cells that is critical to cellular metabolism and other fundamental biological processes that make life possible. NAD+ levels naturally decline with age and this decline is associated with decline in overall health and increase in age-related diseases. NMN supplementation increases NAD+ levels, which increases the activation of a class of anti-aging genes called sirtuins that are involved in the regulation of energy metabolism and longevity.

One of the best studied anti-aging treatments is a calorie restricted diet, which has been shown to increase NAD+ levels. NMN is a powerful calorie restriction mimetic, meaning that it is a compound that is capable of inducing similar cellular changes to those normally seen as a result of a calorie restrictive diet and slowing the aging process.

In rodent studies, NMN has been shown to mitigate age-associated physiological decline without any toxicity or deleterious effects. NMN supplementation suppressed age-associated weight gain, enhanced energy metabolism, promoted physical activity, improved insulin sensitivity and plasma lipid profile, ameliorated eye function and other pathophysiologies.

In a 2013 study by Dr. David Sinclair, professor in the Department of Genetics at Harvard Medical School and co-director of the Paul F. Glenn Center for the Biology of Aging at Harvard Medical School, it was found that after only 6 days of NMN administration, 22 month old mice (equivalent to approximately 95 years old in human years) had the muscle capacity, endurance and metabolism of 6 month old mice! In a later study, Dr. Sinclair tested 60 days of NMN administration and found a nearly 100% increase in endurance and 500% increase in NAD+ levels.

You may be familiar with another popular NAD+ precursor called Nicotinamide Riboside (NR/Niagen) and be wondering why is NMN superior?

    1. NR is highly unstable in the body and rapidly deteriorates into Nicotinamide/Niacin (regular Vitamin B3), which does not create NAD+ via the salvage pathway, only the rate-limited de novo pathway. NMN is highly stable in the body.

    2. Unlike NR, which in one study reduced endurance and physical performance by 35%, NMN was shown to increase physical performance, as measured by treadmill run time, by 60% and double exercise endurance.

    3. In 2 separate studies, NMN was found to improve heart function, NR did not improve heart function.

    4. Alzheimer’s disease is widely believed to be driven by the production and deposition of the Beta-amyloid peptide. NMN decreases Beta-amyloid peptide buildup, while NR does not.

An additional benefit of NMN supplementation is that it helps to protect the body from radiation exposure, including from security and medical scanners. NASA is currently conducting human tests to see if NMN could protect astronauts from cosmic radiation in space.

  • L-Ergothioneine (as ErgoActive®)

    2.5 mg

L-Ergothioneine is a rare, powerful, highly effective and highly bioavailable antioxidant, that cannot be synthesized by the human body and is available from very few dietary sources. L-Ergothioneine is unique, because human tissue has a highly specific intestinal transporter that absorbs dietary L-Ergothioneine and then distributes it throughout the body's tissues, where it is accumulated and highly retained. The L-Ergothioneine transporter concentrates L-Ergothioneine in the mitochondria, where it powerfully protects vulnerable mitochondrial DNA and other mitochondrial constituents from oxidative damage.

L-Ergothioneine has been found to be as potent an antioxidant as glutathione, but, unlike glutathione and most other antioxidants, its unique tautomeric molecular structures allows it to remain highly stable in the face of oxidative stress, enabling it to continuously scavenge free radicals and cycle between its oxidized (i.e. after scavenging a free radical) and reduced sulfur (i.e. after shedding the scavenged free radical) states non-enzymatically. The half-life of dietary L-Ergothioneine in mammalian tissues is approximately 1 month vs. glutathione and other antioxidants, which are often rapidly and totally depleted in the face of oxidative stress.

L-Ergothioneine accumulates throughout the body, but preferentially accumulates in organs and cells that are predisposed to high levels of oxidative stress and inflammation, such as the liver, kidneys and bone marrow. L-Ergothioneine also has the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and exhibits neuroprotective properties.

L-Ergothioneine has been shown to possess numerous antioxidant and cytoprotective effects, including free radical scavenger activity, anti-inflammatory activity, UV radiation-induced damage protective activity, neuroprotective properties and the ability to chelate metal ions such as iron and copper (thereby decreasing the ability of these metal ions to stimulate oxidative damage).

As the body ages, it loses its ability to fight the effects of free radicals that promote disease, nerve damage, inflammation, and poor health and therefore antioxidant supplementation becomes extremely important.

  • S-Acetyl Glutathione

    100 mg

Glutathione is one of the most important and potent antioxidants and detoxifying agents. It has the ability to slow the process of aging and help prevent cancer, heart disease, dementia and many other illnesses. Glutathione counteracts oxidative damage to DNA, cells and mitochondria, chelates heavy metals, detoxifies, builds and repairs tissues, reduces inflammation and boosts immune function. Glutathione is produced in the liver and is used in every cell and tissue in the body, though its intracellular levels decline as we age by approximately 10% each decade. Glutathione levels are further reduced by poor diet, health complications, exposure to environmental toxins, pollution and radiation, prescription medications and drug and alcohol consumption. Nearly 117,000 peer-reviewed scientific articles have addressed this critical molecule.

Ordinarily, as much as 90% of orally ingested glutathione is broken down by stomach acid. S-Acetyl Glutathione is a unique form of glutathione with an acetyl group attached to the sulfur atom of cysteine. This acetyl group protects the glutathione molecule and it is not broken down by stomach acid. Once absorbed the acetyl group is removed by non-specific enzymes inside your cells leaving the glutathione molecule intact. S-Acetyl Glutathione is both highly bioavailable and able to cross the blood-brain barrier. Orally administered S-Acetyl Glutathione compares favorably with IV administered glutathione and has been found to increase intracellular glutathione and improve many biomarkers of oxidative stress.

  • Ubiquinol (Kaneka Ubiquinol™) 30%

    100 mg

Ubiquinol is the biologically active form of Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) and is 3-8 times more absorbable than standard CoQ10. Ubiquinol is a vitamin-like molecule that is naturally present in just about every cell in the body.

As the body ages, its ability to produce Ubiquinol/CoQ10 declines and dietary sources of Ubiquinol/CoQ10 become increasingly important. This decline in production begins in the late-20s and early-30s and results in declining health and longevity.

CoQ10 is a large, fat-soluble molecule and has low absorbability, therefore the reduced and biologically active, Ubiquinol, form of CoQ10, offers the significantly improved absorption.  Ubiquinol is a powerful antioxidant, a membrane stabilizer and a vital co-factor in the production of ATP by the mitochondria. It is arguably the single most important nutrient for mitochondrial health.

Ubiquinol supplementation slows the aging process, increases cellular energy metabolism, improves mitochondrial health and function, improves heart and brain health and reduces oxidative damage.

  • R-Alpha Lipoic Acid (Stabilized)

    50 mg

R-Fractionated Alpha Lipoic Acid (R-ALA) is the biologically active form of Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA) and is a powerful antioxidant that is both fat and water soluble and can therefore function throughout the body. R-ALA is the only form of ALA that that is proven to significantly reduce inflammation, increase cellular and mitochondrial antioxidant activity for preventing mitochondrial decay, improve memory and protect the brain from neurodegeneration, increase insulin sensitivity, enhance glucose transport, increase metabolic rate, and reduce age-related weight gain. R-ALA can boost cellular levels of NAD+ (and lower levels of NADH), which facilitates sirtuin (anti-aging genes) activation.

Standard ALA supplements are actually the much cheaper S-ALA form of ALA, which is not biologically active. Standard forms of both ALA/S-ALA and R-ALA supplements are not stable at room temperature and will polymerize into molecular chains that are not absorbable by the body in a matter of days.  THRIVE uses thermally-stabilized R-ALA, which is both biologically active and can be stored at room temperature without polymerization occurring.

  • N-Acetyl L-Carnitine HCL

    500 mg

Acetyl L-Carnitine is the biologically active form of the amino acid L-Carnitine and has been shown to protect cells throughout the body against age-related degeneration. Acetyl L-Carnitine is also the form of L-carnitine that is able to cross the blood-brain barrier and has been shown to be beneficial for the brain and for cognitive function. L-carnitine is a vitamin-like nutrient that is produced by the human body, but production declines as we age. L-carnitine's most important function is the transport of long-chain fatty acids into mitochondria, where they are utilized in ATP/energy generation. Long-chain fatty acids are mitochondria’s preferred fuel source and 60-70% of the total amount of ATP in our bodies is produced from fatty acids. The vast majority of dietary fats we consume are long-chain fatty acids and the only way these fats can be utilized to generate energy is by the action of L-carnitine.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • At what age should I start taking THRIVE GOLD?

There are a variety of factors that determine an individual's rate of aging, including genetic factors, diet, exercise, sleep, stress management, and exposure to environmental pollutants. Generally, physiological decline begins in the mid-20s and increases steadily until around 40 years old, at which point it accelerates. We generally recommend starting THRIVE GOLD as early as possible after age 25 or so, but ideally by age 35-40. Similar to investing for retirement, the earlier you start the better.

  • What will happen if I stop taking THRIVE GOLD?

If you stop taking THRIVE GOLD your mitochondrial function, oxidative stress and NAD+ will gradually revert towards your baseline. This does not mean that the benefits of use will be erased, but rather that you will gradually return to aging at whatever rate your genetics, diet, lifestyle and environment determine. Think of it like deciding to stop eating a healthy diet.

  • How many capsules should I take?

We recommend 1 serving (2 capsules) daily. There is evidence of additional benefits from higher doses of the component ingredients of THRIVE GOLD, so some people may wish to take more than 1 serving per day.

  • Is THRIVE GOLD all natural?

  • Do you use Magnesium Stearate?

No. Due to health concerns associated with the use of Magnesium Stearate, all Awakened Alchemy products use Nu-FLOW®, an organic flow agent made from sterilized rice hulls.

  • Should THRIVE GOLD be cycled?
